With Valentines Day fast approaching, we’re remembering a wedding that POPPED with BRIGHT RED!

Cara and Ben got married in August of 2019, at the incomparable House Mountain Inn. When we think of our favorite Virginia wedding venues, this one tops the charts.

First of all, the staff was superb. Helpful, accommodating, and so prepared. We loved shooting this wedding. Take a look at this STUNNING Shenandoah Valley mountain wedding destination.

The Grounds:

The sprawling estate is nestled in the Shenandoah Valley and offers jaw-dropping mountain views, gorgeous gardens, and architecture that you can just tell was built solely to enhance and embrace the incredible setting.

Cara descended - we say descended because to say she walked would simply not capture the drama - from a large wooden patio situated high above her guests, down a long staircase, arm in arm with her beaming father. If you’re looking to make an ENTRANCE, this is the way to do it.

The two said “I Do” standing encircled by the Allegheny Mountains, before a spring-fed pond, with the trickling sounds of a small waterfall behind them. The large and welcoming pergola was adorned with draperies and sunflowers, and the bold red and navy blue bridal party popped before a backdrop of lush green. Do we sound like we’re gushing? Well… we are.

The Architecture:

There are two main buildings at this location, House Mountain Inn, and the Irving Estate. Both exude elegance with a enchanting mountain chalet feel. The House Mountain Pavilion, where Cara and Ben welcomed guests for dinner and dancing after they tied the knot, is a breathtaking timber-frame mountaintop pavilion overlooking the Allegheny, and the spring-fed pond on the grounds below. It also features a dramatic stone fireplace and huge dance floor.

They stayed at the Inn, which offers ten rooms, all superbly appointed for wedding preparations the morning of.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that these two are gorgeous all by themselves. Can’t you just feel the joy and excitement they share for one another? What a beautiful day and a beautiful place to celebrate love and life.
