Wedding Wednesday; Throwback to our First LGBTQ Wedding!

June is Pride Month!!! And in celebration of love of ALL kinds, we’d like you to meet Karima and Crystal, our very FIRST pride wedding. We were SO honored that these two lovers gave us the honor of photographing their special day.

Speaking of special - this one was ULTRA special. They got married in 2018, when the legalization of gay marriage was still fresh for Virginia. We want to highlight the bravery and passion that these two had to declare their love publicly, at a time where tragically, so many were still (understandably) afraid to take that step.

Karina and Crystal are a sweet, fun, loving couple from Waynesboro who got married at the beautiful CrossKeys Barn. The sky was extra pretty for them that day, and of course, the setting at CrossKeys was absolutely stunning, as always.

They tied the knot in August and like a good southern summer day, oh was it HOT! These two creatively prepared to break the heat with an ice cream treat waiting for them after their I Dos!! We loved this clever detail and so did their guests!

We love the soft, elegant colors they chose, which so perfectly matched the natural beauty of their venue.

One of the best parts: this was a family affair. You could feel the love in the air between EVERYONE on the day they said “I Do!” They celebrated their wedding day surrounded by SO MANY friends and family.

It was a privilege to be a part of their love story and to get to know this sweet couple and their tribe. So all together now: Virginia is for ALL Lovers! Happy Pride! Love is Love EVERYDAY!
