Portrait Showcase: All About our Pay What You Will Portrait Sessions!

We announced in early August that we are going to be bringing back our super successful PAY WHAT YOU WILL PORTRAIT SESSIONS!

Our Pay What you Will 2021 is being offered this FALL and you can - OFFICIALLY - BOOK YOUR SESSION NOW!!

We will be booking through the month of September and taking photos through October and November!

This means that you can book us for your family trip to the pumpkin patch, your reunion, or even Thanksgiving! We TOTALLY recommend hiring a photographer for these big family events. That way you don’t have to try and round up the gang all over again for portrait day! Not to mention, these are the occasions you’ll really want to remember. Not sure where to go for your portrait session? We’re FULL of suggestions!

BUT, make sure you book early! Dates must be reserved in September.

So what exactly does “pay what you will” mean?

Well, we want high quality photography to be available to EVERYONE! So our “pay what you will” sessions allow families a unique opportunity to determine what they can afford to spend on portraits. It also allows a chance to get the WHOLE family in the photos at no additional cost (for example, I usually charge a flat rate for families of 4, and additional people cost a little more to add). Which means you can split the cost! Maybe you and your husband and kiddos would like photos with your sister-in-law and her kids, plus grandma of course. This allows multiple households to come together to share in the expense of professional photography.

These pictures will include individual and group photos, and even candids if you bring me along for your family adventures! At the end, you’ll receive a beautiful digital gallery and you’ll have the option to order prints.

So what is a reasonable price to pay for portrait photography?

Well, your photographer will spend about an hour and a half with you on the day of your session. Then, every click of the shutter translates to additional time later. At 621 Studios, every single photo gets uploaded, individually reviewed, and edited for perfection. We also spend time communicating with our clients, coordinating schedules, and moving things around to be as accommodating as possible.

I’ve been taking portraits for over a decade. When I first started out ten years ago, my amateur rate was $100 for a portrait session.

Remember, you’re paying an artist for a unique and special product. We don’t have a minimum price requirement. We just ask that you appreciate our time and skill, and reflect that appreciation in what you decide to pay.

These sessions are open to families, couples and individuals! Don’t wait to lock in your date!
