Portrait Showcase; Brooke’s Bridals

Did you guys know that there is a real, working lavender farm in Appomattox, Virginia where you can watch the bees work and wander through rows of fragrant purple? It’s called the Evergreen Lavender Farm and it is gorgeous!

It also happens to be the PERFECT place for bridal portraits. This is Brooke and we’re so excited to finally share these photos with you!

This place is beautiful all year, but we had the extra special privilege of holding this bridal session in June when the lavender is in full bloom and let me tell you, this is a photographers dream. Golden light spilling over stalks thick with purple blooms. It’s spellbinding. And to have a beautiful subject on top of all of that. Aahhhh.

Bonnie and Ken Swanson have been in operation creating spaces for the public to enjoy at Evergreen since 2010. Their mission is to engage all of the senses and they don’t disappoint. The enticing smell and the soft flowers are met with eye-catching country splendor in an open-air chapel just waiting for small wedding ceremonies and “I do’s”. Brooke also held her wedding here- that marvelous Lovetale Storyboard coming soon, every bit as beautiful as these bridal portraits!

These last two images were Brooke’s absolute FAVORITE! In fact, she displayed them both at her reception, which was also held here at Evergreen Lavender Farm. She was enchanted by the whimsy and wildflowers - and so were we!

For all of you soon-to-be-wed sweethearts reading this, there is a very short window of opportunity to capture the lavender in full bloom at the end of June. We would LOVE to meet you there!. We recommend booking that now to reserve your spot! If you’ve dreamed of a photo-shoot in a field of wildflowers, we’re inviting YOU to reach out through our contact portal to reserve one for yourself.
