Wedding Wednesday; Amanda and Tom - Montclair, New Jersey

In so many ways, this year - year 2020 - was different than any other. Big ways, small ways, hard ways, new ways.

There were also great ways. For 621 Studios, we celebrated photographing more destination weddings than ever in 2020 :)

That’s right, we broke records! 

Many of those destination weddings were in New Jersey - with their stunning beaches, manicured scenes and vintage nostalgia - oh, I could go on. I love Jersey.

Amanda and Tom were one of our first wedding to cancel because of Covid. They took that first powerful shock punch, a week, maybe two before their wedding, even the small surprise ceremony they originally intended 100% dropped off the books and they would have to wait months before confirming and claiming their new wedding date, maintaining as many of their original vendors as possible.

We were so happy to remain an integral part of their wedding day team and for the unique opportunity to get to know them significantly more due to the twists and changes and all the moving parts that needed walking through in the ever changing climate of 2020.

Amanda and Tom got married in Montclair, New Jersey at The George Inn. We were allowed inside - with the door open - for less than five minutes to take photos on their oh so lovely stairs! (We really hope to return to The George Inn and one day photograph more of their breathtaking interior designs that we see on their website!)

During the earlier season of Covid with tighter restrictions, Amanda’s sister got  married. That’s why you see two brides. They are sisters.  

How cool that Amanda wanted a picture with her sister in her wedding gown too - she insisted upon it. How cool, that despite the distance and physical absence at her sister’s wedding earlier in the year, she wanted a mental and literal picture of her sister in her wedding dress. I love that. I love how much love that is.
